1. Since most pipe fittings are used for welding, the ends are beveled to improve welding quality, leaving a certain angle and edge. This requirement is quite strict, with regulations specifying the edge thickness, angle, and tolerance range. The surface quality and mechanical properties are basically the same as the pipe. For ease of welding, the steel grade of the fitting is the same as the pipe being connected.
2. All pipe fittings undergo surface treatment. Iron oxide scale on the inner and outer surfaces is removed by shot blasting, followed by application of anti-corrosion paint. This is necessary for export, and also for domestic transport to facilitate rust and oxidation prevention.
3. Packaging requirements: For small fittings, such as those for export, wooden crates of approximately 1 cubic meter are required. The standard stipulates that the number of elbows in such crates cannot exceed one ton. Nesting (larger crates inside smaller ones) is allowed, but the total weight generally cannot exceed one ton. Larger fittings (e.g., 24″) must be individually packaged. Additionally, packaging markings must indicate dimensions, steel grade, batch number, manufacturer's trademark, etc.
