JIS standard gate valve operates by moving the gate vertically along the flow axis to fully open or close the passage, allowing or stopping fluid flow in the pipeline.
It is designed primarily for on/off service, rather than throttling or flow regulation. When fully open, the flow passage is unobstructed, resulting in minimal pressure loss.
JIS gate valves are suitable for clean and non-abrasive media such as water, steam, air, oil, and other neutral fluids. Due to their structure, they are not recommended for media containing solid particles, sludge, or high-viscosity fluids.
Typical applications include water supply systems, HVAC installations, industrial pipelines, general chemical processing, shipbuilding, and it is also suitable for installations with limited space.
